This month's topic:
“Slow Down to do More!”
.
********************************************
Do you ever feel
like a kid in the candy store? There is so much to choose from that you
stand there shivering with excitement completely unable to make a
decision? Or, do you ever have so many things you want to do that you
start all of them but never finish one? I read a quote somewhere that
said something like; "He threw himself madly onto his horse and rode off
wildly in all directions."
I feel like both of these at the moment. I have
always been the type of person who is doing many things at once. In
fact, I like to be doing several things. For example, I am usually
reading three books at a time.
This morning, I am questioning the validity of
these choices. Fortunately, I now pause and consider these choices
sooner rather than later which keeps me from getting into trouble. I
have several projects I am working on and none of them are progressing
as quickly as I would like. I also noticed I had been helping other
people at the expense of getting my own things done. Tuesday, I decided
it was time to work for Terri. I started with my yard work. I went to
the nursery and purchased my flowers, planted them all on Wednesday,
ordered my mulch Thursday morning and started spreading it that evening.
My shoulder has been talking to me for quite some
time. So before I began my yard work, I had a long talk with my body. We
made a deal to listen to each other and work together to get the job
done. I slowed way down from my normal pace and I quit when my shoulder
told me it had had enough. The really weird thing is….I have gotten the
planting and mulching done more quickly and I have thoroughly enjoyed
every moment. And, I have not had to drag myself into the house
completely spent because I had had no food or water.
Slow down to get more done. I love it. I am going
to carry that into the other areas of my life and get off the horse that
is riding wildly in all directions! How about you? Are you riding wildly
in all directions? It is a holiday weekend, get off the horse, put your
feet up, and just breathe!
Have a beautiful weekend and thanks for listening!
Terri (with her feet up reading ONE book!)

"The Little Things"
A dear friend sent a link to this beautiful
happening. So often, we get caught up thinking we only make an impact by
doing something huge when in truth.... it's the little things.
Enjoy!
